ARIS Sport Blade Runner

G-Rating

Rating of 5

The basics

The ARIS Sport Blade Runner is a California designed skateboard that does away with conventional deck wisdom in favour of tapered conical shaped wheels. The design means you can carve angles of up to 56 degrees on a board that works much in the same way as a surfboard or snowboard, just on wheels!

The good

The board itself is made from 7-ply maple deck so has plenty of flex without ever feeling as though it's going to give. The use of elastmeric bumpers and the aluminium trucks means it's a nicely rounded and top-spec piece of kit. The Polyurethane conical wheels are tapered to their outer edge and you'll find they're really durable so you won't be replacing them too often. It's a really efficient way to travel and a great advance in modern urban technology. This means that the board actually tilts from edge to edge as your moving, much like a snowboard or surf board, so you feel the movement in a whole different way compared to a conventional deck. You can really feel as you carve the conical shape of the wheel and the inertia from it so you're not just making shapes you're actually pushing yourself along. ABEC 7 bearings, as you'd find on any high-end skateboard, rounds out the package,. This means that while the design of the wheels may be radical, you'll still find yourself making the most of your skateboard skills.

The bad

There is nothing really to fault here, as we're even impressed with the price, which at a shade over £150 is pretty much in line with current high-end skateboards.

The bottom line

The ARIS Sport Blade Runner is an absolutely winner in our books and everyone who every tries one will want one – book your test drive today and be amazed!
