The basics

Sony Ericsson W350i is a small mobile phone that packs a big punch. It is has good audio programs where the user can listen to the radio or upload songs to the memory. The phone comes in ice blue, graphic white, electric black, and hypnotic black colours. It weighs about 75 grams.

The good

Mobile phone? This looks more like an MP3 player. That's how overtly music-centric the W350i is. The skinny styling and hidden keypad are indeed eye candy of the sweetest sort and considering its prepay roots, its musical skills aren't too shabby. Sony's well-rounded Walkman sound is in full effect here, thanks to an equalizer with Mega Bass talents...

The bad

... unfortunately, it's far from perfect. While it's not a surprise to see there's no built-in storage, the Memory Stick Micro slot only supports card capacities of up to 2GB - that's only enough for 500 or so tunes. The flip mechanism also feels slightly archaic for a mobile phone, but worse still it's disconcertingly flimsy. The low spec is also a cause for concern, with 3G off the menu in favour of sluggish EDGE and the camera packing a paltry 1.3 megapixels.

The bottom line

With the likes of Sony's Mega Bass the W350i is OK as an MP3 player. It's a shame that Sony Ericsson forgot that this was supposed to be a phone as well.

This phone is really good surprisingly. It lasted me about 2 years. The battery didnt last for very long in the end (about two days top) but it has survived many falls in puddles, throws across the room (all accidents I assure you). The odd thing was though that the cover broke off in my pocket in the last 3 months of its mechanical life, yet it survived the many falls it had... Guess it had enough. Worth the money though...

This page needs to be updated! it says £60 or so. I bought it for £20. It still is a very good phone, but lacks qualities a phone should have.

very good phone for the price, i had this for a year or so before buying a Nokia 5530 xpressmusic. It was very good for everything i needed, and although i dropped it many times the cover never broke off.

Managed to get it to work with an 8gb memory card in it. Bit slow on the start up though. Replaced earphones twice as they only play in one ear, and the speaker in the rear has blown. All in all, a bit flimsey.
