Twitter has really grown in the past few years. I've been on it since 2009 and when you first join and have no followers you find the website so so boring but once you join in with trending topics (the things that are getting tweeted about the most) finding things in common with people or just simply liking what they tweet about and joining in with follow friday (every friday most people who tweet recommend people for their followers to follow with the term #FF mentioned in their tweets) you start to get into it, maybe even addicted. Because it's constantly automatically streaming there is so much information to take in and be a part of. You can also get yourself 'out there' and known if you work hard enough which is beneficial for many things like business or communicating with a mass audience. Many celebrities are on twitter now and find it the easiest way to communicate with their fanbase because of, as i said the constant automatic streaming of tweets which allows them to give out information extremely quickly to a wide audience, advertise and answer questions etc. It is a very good marketing tool. I'm no expert but this website is a joy to use and I most recommend it. It takes a little while to get used to but once you know you will be very happy :)
