The basics

The Sony VAIO VPCL22V1E is an All-In-One PC with a pretty impressive heritage to live up to. Comprising of a 24-inch Full HD touchscreen display, you'll find that 3D enabled with the glasses coming in the box, so you'll get the latest user experience, all wrapped around by a great looking chassis.

The good

The Sony VAIO VPCL22V1E All-In-One is a great looking PC with a wide and large buttoned keyboard that is a pleasure to use. However, what really stands out is the 24-inch touchscreen, which is also 3D enabled, and makes this All-in-One something to love and admire. Visuals look great and the touchscreen aspect proved responsive and easy to use. 3D is something you'll want to make the most of with games and 3D movies and definitely gives this PC a future-proof feel. The main spec of the Sony VAIO VPCL22V1E is pretty impressive too with a 2.2GHz Intel Core i7 processor backed by 8GB RAM the Windows 7 operating system has plenty of power to handle just abut everything you'll ever want to throw at it. We found this an incredibly speedy PC, even when layering up the processes and found it capable of handling pretty much everything we through at it, including rendering an MPEG movie in the background while we had a little game of FIFA Street in the foreground. When it comes to graphics you'll find the 1GB Nvidia GT540M graphics card does a great job of handling things without too much trouble.

The bad

All this grunt under the hood makes for a rather expensive piece of kit that may put the VAIO out of the price range of the average family but this is no average PC, so shop around and you may find a bargain. That said, while we were impressed with the speed and performance of the VAIO All-in-One but the 750GB hard drive does feel a little mean at this price point.

The bottom line

If you're looking for a powerful PC that offers plenty of performance and enough head-room to last you a few years before even thinking about upgrading, the Sony VAIO VPCL22V1E All-In-One is a great all-round package.

Hoffman

Personally after having a problem with a couple of earlier models and being snubbed by Sony and lied to I'll never purchase another Sony product , especially as the problem was the Nvidia chip but customer relations told me I'd spilt some orange liquid in it so it was my fault , how come the two independent IT.engineers never noticed this liquid as it was these who first confirmed it was the.chip. So the hype and the products I thought were once a name I would buy , well I wouldn't and don't anymore . Even Sony Arndale centre Manchester just wiped their hands of everything even though it was purchased there. So the name Sony seems good but not anymore for my family and friends.
