The basics

The Netgear WNDR3700 RangeMax is an 802.11n Wi-Fi router. It's capable of supporting true dual-band wireless, and offers impressive speed and networking capabilities.

The good

With the ability to set up a guest network, the Netgear WNDR3700 RangeMax is a great solution for users wanting to multi-task. With true dual-band capabilities, you'll be able to download files on your regular Wi-Fi network without seeing speeds drop. The ability to create multiple wireless networks is also great from a security standpoint, keeping your files safe if you live in a shared household. The Netgear WNDR3700 RangeMax also features an integrated USB port, with the ability to access files wirelessly from USB memory sticks and hard drives. It works at both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz spectrum, and provides decent download speeds and good connectivity.

The bad

Although the USB port means you can use the Netgear WNDR3700 RangeMax for storage purposes, performance is actually quite sluggish when moving larger files or groups of files around.

The bottom line

Despite this, the Netgear WNDR3700 RangeMax is still a decent all-round solution. With fast speeds and a strong signal, it's a capable router that's a good choice for those wanting to set up multiple networks.

I am trying to get a booster for my sons who have virtually camped in the shed at the bottom of the garden. I remember seeing one of your shows that went into details regarding this but am struggling to find the correct info on your web pages. Can you help me please!! My boys can't get playing with their Xbox and allegedly strugglinig with their homeworks on the laptops because of the poor range. Kim
