IT WORKS, and IT DOESN'T I've been using RoboMop for 2 years. I have 3 interconnecting rooms with ceramic tiles and wooden flooring. The main purpose was to reduce cat dander and fur, for which the RoboMop does an excellent job. I use it every other day. Over the years, I've had 2 different models of the RoboMop... (1) no timer and (2) with 30m/1hr/1.5hr timer. I would rather use the RoboMop withOUT timer, and let the ball do its job until it runs out of power. Unfortunately, I think the company has stopped making balls withOUT timers. For it's simplicity of operation and maintenance, I highly recommend the RoboMop. HOWEVER, over time, the robotic ball does slow down and stop altogether. I suspect this is because there's an AAA battery within the ball which stops being effective after 8 months -1 year. In the 'no-timer' version of the robotic ball, you can take apart the ball to change the internal battery (with a little bit of care). Unfortunately, you CANNOT change the internal battery on the ball with the timer. Now, I don't know if it's the company policy to engineer obsolescence into RoboMops but that's the effect anyway. So be prepared to keep buying NEW RoboMop replacements at least once a year -- or until the company finds a way to allow the customer to change the re-chargeable battery in the robotic ball.
