These remind me of Ekranoplans - check out the Caspian Sea Monster - a quick search on Google should find plenty of pics of this 10 jet engined giant that could travel at hundreds of miles per hour at a few feet above the surface of the water. The Russian's were experimenting with these decades ago, but I thought no-one else was interested, Wish I'd got $25k to spend on one.
