Microsoft reveal bargain Windows 8 upgrade pricing!
Microsoft has confirmed the price it will cost to upgrade to Windows 8. At around £25, the upgrade won’t put too much of a dent in your wallet. Microsoft confirmed the price on a blog post explaining all Windows users need to know about the upgrade. Read on for the full lowdown.
The Windows 8 pricing was confirmed in an official Windows blog post letting Windows users know they can upgrade from Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP on your PC. Existing users can make the Windows 8 upgrade for a cut-price £25. Those wanting a boxed copy of Windows 8 will be able to grab one for £45.

Microsoft says it aims to make the transition as painless as possible. During the upgrade, the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant will take users trough each step of the way to make sure your PC is ready for Windows 8, and inform you of any compatibility issues.
Those making the upgrade will want to pay attention to the following, explaining what existing users will be able to bring over during the process:
“You will be able to upgrade from any consumer edition of Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro and bring everything along which includes your Windows settings, personal files, and apps. If you are upgrading from Windows Vista, you will be able to bring along your Windows settings and personal files, and if you are upgrading from Windows XP you will only be able to bring along your personal files.
“Of course, if you want to start fresh, you can choose to bring nothing along,” Microsoft adds. For more on the upgrade, head over to the Windows blog. The lower Windows 8 price will only be available until January 31st 2013. After that, all users will need to pay the full price of £45. Will you be making the upgrade?

When Microsoft sets the pricing, it usually isn't simply a matter of converting from dollars to the appropriate value in pounds. Rather, it's usually a matter of simply changing the symbol. Since the promotional price for an upgrade will be $40, I expect it to cost £40 here, not £25.
