Waterproof your iPhone with the Optrix XD Sport for adventurers

The high definition camera skills of the iPhone 4S make it great for making amateur movies with a bit of gloss, but being a smartphone camera there’s only so much you can do with it. That’s where the Optrix XD Sport comes in. It’s a heavy duty-housing that transforms the iPhone into a rugged and waterproof all-action sports camera perfect for shooting in almost any situation.

Optrix knows a thing or two about action sports cases. The Optrix XD Sport is the first rugged waterproof iPhone case designed to transform your iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and iPod Touch into a wide-angle action video camera.

It does so using a 175 degree wide angle aluminium and glass lens, and a case that fits over any of the above compatible devices, letting users shoot in in full high definition.

What Optrix is calling “military grade” spec (it conforms to military grade (MIL-STD-810F) makes it an ideal accompaniment to mountain biking, skiing, and all kinds of extreme sports hijinks, it says.

Adventurous film types will also be able to pick up a range of Optrix XD Sport accessories that cling to surfaces and fix on helmets for when mountain biking. When you’re done, the Sport XD doubles up as a heavy duty case, although its camera juts out slightly, so you may have trouble sticking it in your pocket.

But should you fancy it, and have a wild recording streak, the Optrix XD Sport is available to order now, from
Optrix and Apple Stores worldwide at a cost of $99 (around £63).
