UK Top 10 games: FIFA Street kicks Kinect Star Wars into touch

Take a bow, FIFA Street. Not even the might of Star Wars could stop EA’s newest football game reclaiming top spot in the UK charts. Kinect Star Wars may have been the most purchased game last week but this week it slips down a few places below two more EA games: Mass Effect 3 and FIFA 12. Can anyone stop EA? Here’s what else you’ve been buying this week.

The UK games chart sees the publisher dominate the chart, with six games out of the top ten. FIFA Street, Mass Effect 3, and FIFA 12 make up your top three most purchased games of the previous week, followed by Microsoft’s Kinect Star Wars.

Kinect Star Wars review

Last week Kinect Star Wars shot straight to the top. This week it has to make do with being only the fourth most popular game this week.

Kinect Star Wars features a number of game modes in which the player can take on the role of a handful of the famous Star Wars cast using the motion sensor skills of Microsoft Kinect. In our Kinect Star Wars review we praised it for being family friendly but said it fell short of being the Star Wars experience we had hoped for.

Elsewhere there’s a distinct lack of new entries: only the Wii-exclusive Pandora Tower, which could only manage no. 38 in the charts.

The rest of the top ten combines some familiar names: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Battlefield 3, Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic Games and snowboarding game SSX.

With The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings being the only major release this coming week, we’re not expecting too much change this time next week. Only when Max Payne 3 arrives in a couple of weeks are we expecting big changes. What games have you been buying this week? Let us know.
