Toshiba Satellite A350 laptop is big on movies

Fwd Tech  Wednesday 21 January 2009

Toshiba Satellite A350 laptop is big on movies The Toshiba Satellite A350 has a 16:9 aspect ratio. What does that mean? Read on…

Bet you didn’t know that most laptops come with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and that’s why when you’re watching movies on them they have those pesky black lines sandwiching the picture. Okay, that’s not exactly a fact that you’d want to impress a girl with on her first date, but how about this: the Toshiba Satellite A350 has an aspect ratio of (sharp intake of breath) 16:9!

Okay, so that probably won’t exactly have her leaping on you uncontrollably either, but at least you’ll be able to watch movies as they were intended when she leaves you sitting in the bar on your own.

The 16-inch screen enjoys throws out some sparkling images thanks to Toshiba’s TruBite technology, which keeps everything looking sharp. The pictures are complemented by some rather natty, integrated Harmon Kardon speakers and Dolby Sound Room technology. With a choice of Core 2 Duo or AMD Turion processors, 4GB of RAM, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, Wi-Fi, optional HDMI connectivity and up to 320GB of storage, the only thing missing is a Blu-ray player. Makes the £529 price tag sound very reasonable to us.
