The world’s first see through smartphone is out this year!

Bored of your latest phone already? Tired of the pixel arms race? Here’s something that really goes ahead of the curve: a transparent smartphone that looks like it’s straight out of a sci-fi flick!

Taiwanese company Polytron Technologies is working hard to produce a completely transparent smartphone. It’s still in the early stages, but the company says it hopes to have it in limited production by as soon as the year’s end, so it won’t be too long until you’re misplacing your brand new transparent phone.

One in four iPhone owners are living with a broken screen

Polytron current prototype is nearly fully transparent, though the batteries and microSD card are still opaque. You can still read the screen, but it’s transparent enough for you to walk around and text to your heart’s content without having to look up or bump into anything.

Think you’d want a slice of sci-fi tech? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Can someone please tell me the point of a transparent phone, as it seems utterly pointless and much less useful than a normal phone! It's about as much use as a transparent toilet! Dumbest idea EVER! these guys obviously got FAR too much time on their hands.

Maybe those guys are too young to know what an OHP is, and have never tried to read text written on a sheet of acetate without the backing paper.

Its not really impossible. Samsung had a transparent phone quite a while ago. However this can only be possible on a smartphone with oled.

If you lose your phone just use Tasker or Where'sMyDroid. You'll find out in a second. It's not hard.
