The Gadget Show: World Tour revealed!
The Gadget Show returns to our screens this Spring, as it packs its suitcase and goes on tour. Tech-loving presenters Jason Bradbury and Pollyanna Woodward will travel across the world in pursuit of the latest and best future consumer tech from Japan to Dubai. We’ve got the lowdown, and some words on the show from from the presenters themselves.
Each week The Gadget Show: World Tour will see Jason and Pollyanna get their passports out and visit locations from Silicon Valley to Abu Dhabi. The first episode will see Jason and Pollyanna take to the tech-filled streets of Japan to hang out with Honda’s Asimo robot, before shooting their own Japanese-style pop videos by testing the latest HD camcorders.
Soon after, Jason and Polly will be using the latest 3D TV technology in the Mediterranean, testing tablet computers in New York and touring Dubai on the lookout for the latest gadgets. A UK return will see Jason and Polly undertake their biggest consumer tech test yet.
We caught up with the two, for a few quick-fire questions asking what Jason and Pollyanna have been up to on The Gadget Show: World Tour. Here’s what they had to say:
Favourite moment so far? Polly: Every moment’s a favourite moment. Every country we go to is different, everything we do is different. The new series is just full of experiences and it’s really nice to travel with Jason and share everything that we do. There is literally never a dull moment. We have so much fun.
Jason: For me personally the water-powered jetpack was literally a perfect moment. I felt like Iron Man. It really was a super moment. I actually prefer to be the villain, so I felt quite villainous.
Most memorable location? Jason: Akihabara in Tokyo, Japan. It’s like Tottenham Court Road on crack. It’s the most surreal place. Polly: Absolutely. There’s nothing like it.
Favourite challenge? Jason: The water-powered jetpack! And a wakeboard powered by a jetski was amazing. And lots of robots.
Polly: There’s just too many to choose from!
Most scary moment? Jason: Doing some tests in a bullet-proof bunker scared me because I was worried a bullet would ricochet off it. Polly was just upfront without a care because she’s got a death wish.
Polly: They’re quite sensible if there’s a real danger it doesn’t happen, but we’re game for anything!
Where are you going to next? Polly: Dubai. Jason: And Abu Dhabi
Where would you love to go? Polly: I’d love to go to Australia, but I don’t think we’re going there this series, but Australia would be lovely.
Any favourite travel gadgets? Polly: I always have a pair of headphones on me, B&W P5s. I can’t live without them. I always carry my laptop with me, and I have a little portable speaker that I have in my hotel room called a WOWee. Jason: That’s cool, we use that a lot. You can put it on glass and.. Polly: Yeah, it has a gel platform on the back so that when you attach it to a surface it turns it into a subwoofer.
And the all-important question. Will there be a big prize giveaway at the end? Jason: Definitely. Of course. It’ll be bigger!
And that’s it from Jason and Polly for now. Expect to hear lots more from the pair this Spring, when The Gadget Show: World Tour finally jets off.
