T-Mobile G2 gets official
T-Mobile G2 – US cousin
The T-Mobile G2 has just had its official unveiling in the US. It’s an HTC Android phone, with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Will we see a UK cousin arriving soon?
The T-Mobile G2 might be the successor to the T-Mobile G1, but it has more in common with the HTC Desire/Google Nexus One. It’s packing a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen, a five megapixel camera capable of capturing 720p HD video, an 800MHz CPU, and support for the T-Mobile’s speedy HSPA+ network. The new handset also appears to run stock Android Froyo, rather than HTC Sense.
We might not see the T-Mobile G2 in its current guise in the UK, but given that we’re promised an HTC event next week, on 15 September, there might be something similar up HTC’s smartphone sleeve for the event.
Rumoured to be the HTC Desire Z, it’s rumoured to be… a QWERTY slider with a 3.7-inch screen. We’ll be at the event, so stay tuned to see if we get a cousin to the T-Mobile G2.
