Swap iPod music and mobile phone files with Leyio

The Gadget Show  Wednesday 09 September 2009

Swap iPod music and mobile phone files with Leyio Leyio's wireless file sharer just got a whole lot smarter.

Leyio has updated its swanky wireless Personal Sharing Device (PSD) so it can now interact directly with iPods, mobile phones, digital cameras and even the iPhone.

The PSD is like a super-charged USB stick – there’s 16GB of internal storage and you can zap files wirelessly between two devices using Ultra-wideband (UWB) in double quick time. There’s also a USB port for plugging in regular USB sticks and a 2GB shuttle for sharing files with the Leyio-less.

The new software update means you can plug in your iPod directly and move tunes between your portable pal and PSD.

If that’s not enough wireless excitement, Leyio has also announced a smaller capacity 8GB version which is not only cheaper – just £99 compared to £129 for the beefier version – but also has a microSD card slot so you can easily bump up the volume. The 8GB Leyio PSD will hit the shops in October.
