Sony W-Series Walkman helps you walk, man The Sony W-Series Walkman: a fitness fanatics wet dream

If you’re anything like us, you were probably wavering from your New Year’s resolution to keep fit in February. What you need is some motivational Rocky-style music to get you through the burn. And what better way to listen to it than through the Sony W-Series Walkman, which goes on sale today!

The Sony W-Series Walkman eschews a regular MP3 player design for a an all-in-one unit – both the player and headphones are one singular unit. What that means is cables are kept to a minimum, and anyone who has ever been running with an MP3 player knows how annoying wired flying in the face can be (almost as annoying as listening to Madonna tracks!).

It’s squarely aimed at fitness enthusiasts, with easy-to-access controls, 2GB of storage and 12 hours of music playback from the battery. Plus, it’s even got Sony’s quick charge tech, so you can get an hour and half’s extra play time from just three minutes charge.

Plus there’s Sony’s new ZAPPIN tech, which allows for easier music browsing without a display. How? By automatically detecting choruses of songs and playing just that part of the track when you skip through. Nifty. Out now, it’ll set you back £60.
