Sony VAIO T Ultrabook is an aluminium beauty

Sony has entered the ultrabook market with its new Sony VAIO T – a light aluminium ultrabook available in two models: the Sony VAIO T11 and Sony VAIO T13 in 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch LED screen versions respectively. The sexy ultrabook promises high performance, durability, a quick startup and a not too shabby 9-hour battery life.

The Sony VAIO T11 and VAIO T13, Sony says, was built to handle regular trips to the to the office and back, with a 9-hour battery life to last the day. Its Rapid Wake + Eco technology ensures a quick boot up.

TV more popular on tablets than desktops

Sony has revealed the full specs for the Sony VAIO T13 version. Inside it comes packing an Intel Core i3-2367M processor, 4GB RAM and a 320GB Hard Disk Drive.

As connectivity options and extras go the Sony VAIO T13 will have a USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 slots for accessories and for charging, a HDMI out slot for sharing video with a nearby HD television, a 1.31 megapixel HD web camera and a touchpad with gesture support.

The Sony VAIO T Series ultrabooks will be available later this month. Sony has yet to name its price. If ultrabooks are not your thing then check out our guide to why owning a tablet instead might be the better option for gadget lovers.
