Sonos Sub kit to supersize your Sonos sound system

Sonos has unveiled a new bit of kit called the Sonos Sub – a wireless subwoofer built to beef up the audio of existing Sonos products. With the Sonos Sub, Sonos is promising a difference in sound quality that you’ll not only hear, but feel.

The Sonos Sub uses two force-cancelling speakers to produce audio unaffected by unnecessary vibrations and Class-D amplifiers and digital sound processing technology to give your music collection extra muscle without compromising on overall quality.

With one-button set-up, and no wiring, the Sonos Sub is a cinch to set-up. And like existing Sonos music streaming products such as the Sonos Zoneplayer S:5 can be controlled from a computer, Apple smartphone or tablet, or Android smartphones and tablets.

The Sonos Sub can be stored vertically or horizontally anywhere without a loss of sound, and will work with all Sonos amplified products including the Sonos Play:5, Play:3 Connect: AMP/ZP120/ZP100, but not non-amplified Sonos products.

Those looking to add a bit of meat to their Sonos set-up will be able to pick up a Sonos Sub this October from £499 for the a matte black version, or £599 for a more luxurious black lacquer finish. The price is admittedly a little steep. Would you pay that much to upgrade your home audio set-up?
