Sky+ remote record app comes to Android Sky+ remote record – now Android-friendly

Android handset owners and Sky+ subscribers rejoice – a remote record app, similar to the fabulous iPhone service has surfaced for Android devices on Android Market.

So if you’re out and about and suddenly remember that Corrie or Dog Borstal’s on, you can hit record from your Android phone remotely. This great little app was a popular addition to the iPhone roster last year and lets you set recordings on your Sky+ box wherever you are.

All you need to do is register for a My Sky account at Sky.com, set up Remote Record details online and then you’re good to go. You’ll have access to the full seven-day EPG and you can choose to browse the programmes on offer by time, date or name. You can even use the Series Link functionality to record whole seasons of shows.

Just make sure that you set your Sky+ Android recording at least 30 minutes before the show starts starts.

The Sky+ Remote Record app is on the Android Market now for free.

A QR Code would've been nice for this, but yeah - great app - now I won't miss the next series.

I did a search on Android Market for Sky+ and found several apps. The official Sky+ one has the blue/white Sky logo. Works a treat. Great to have this on my HTC Desire. Even better than the Nokia 5800 app I had previously.
