Sky Go Android App out 22 February lets Android owners watch TV on-the-go
From 22nd February Android handset and tablet owners will soon be able to watch Sky television on the move, as the Sky Go app officially (finally) launches on the Android Market.
Sky Go lets existing Sky subscribers log in to watch live sport, the latest movies and news on-the-move as they broadcast, also letting users catch up on missed television shows, movies and documentaries.
Sky TV shows land on PlayStation 3
Sky has not officially confirmed the news. Instead, a source close to gadget website TechRadar revealed the 22 February date. We already knew an Android app was coming, but not that it was arriving in less than a week’s time.
Sky Go for Android will launch on HTC and Samsung phones that are considered “the most popular”: HTC Desire, HTC Desire S, HTC Desire HD, HTC Incredible S, HTC Sensation, Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Galaxy S2.
It won’t be the first appearance of Sky Go. The app has been available on Apple’s App store for months: available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. We love it, and we’re sure Android owners will, too.
In the coming months we can expect to hear lots more from Sky. The company earlier announced plans for a new on-demand internet TV service for non-subscribers offering movie and live sport rentals letting sports fans watch the latest events without being bound to a contract.
