Sharp outs world's biggest LED TV, and it's coming to the UK
We’ve seen tablets, laptops and smartphones galore at the IFA gadget expo in Germany this week, but that’s not all. Telly maker Sharp has turned heads and popped eyes with a brand new flatscreen ninety inches wide. In fact, it’s the biggest LED lit TV in the world.
The Sharp Aquos 90-inch LED TV is a full HD television that stretches more than a vast two metres across and 1.2 metres high. It’s packing full 3D technology, as well as smart TV capabilities with access to YouTube, Twitter and other apps. You can also play media such as videos and image slideshows off a USB stick or a networked computer directly on it.
LG’s seven foot 4K TV UK bound
Of course, it’s the sheer size of it that matters here. LED TVs are considered the creme de la creme of goggleboxes because they use individual LEDs behind the LCD screen to increase contrast ratio, allowing for really dark blacks and really pure bright whites all on screen at the same time.
There’s no pricetag on the Sharp Aquos 90-inch LED TV just yet, but it’s safe to say it won’t come cheap. It will come to the UK however: Sharp says it’s set to go on sale in Europe in the summer of next year. Better start saving now.
