Save the date: iPhone 5 out September 21st, iPad Mini too?

The iPhone 5 will grace store shelves on 21st September, say sources close to Apple. The iPhone 5 is not the only Apple device rumoured for a September release. Reports also believe that an Apple iPad mini will also be revealed. More on those rumours this way.

Reports of that iPhone 5 release date stem from French blog App4phone.fr (via Cult of Mac). The site says a Chinese accessory-maker had been told by Apple to prepare for the date. The iPhone 5 had previously been predicted to launch in October.

White iPhone 5 appears online

A September date would be earlier than expected, it is thought to get the iPhone 5 in more hands by Christmas. However, as others such as website Cult of Mac has pointed out, Apple will want to avoid officially revealing the iPhone 5 during the 9/11 anniversary, out of respect.

And that of course means readers are advised to take any September launch rumour with a pinch of salt. One thing we do know is that it is coming soon. The iPhone 5 is said to already be in production.

Rumours also point to an iPad mini to accompany the iPhone 5 unveiling. The past few weeks have seen alleged photos of both devices appear online, revealing a 4-inch iPhone 5 with a new dock connector, and a 7-inch iPad. The latter is sure to put a dent in potential Google Nexus 7 tablet sales.

They do need to launch it sooner than later as I know many people with itchy fingers wanting a new toy and with the HTC and Samsungs out there they are slowly going to the dark side.

If you go on the apple website there is a new iOS update getting released in autumn this year so they will probably be released then with the new iOS.

I have been wanting an iPhone for ages. The only reason that I want one is because of the fact that I have an MacBook and the iPhone is the only phone that will sinc up with my laptop which is probably the worst thing about haveing apple computers. I hope that they have sorted out the problem that they had with the original 4GS.

as for the new iphone 5. its just a iphone 4s with a bigger screen. so no real update just the screen size. so more of an update rather than a new phone. but all the i-sheep will run out and buy it. personally its too little too late. samsung are king of the smartphone. and HTC second. so this will have to be outstanding to get top again. sadly i just dont think it will happen.

Apple should not bring out any iOS products with a 12 pin or what ever dock connector as the 30 pin is tradition (apart from when thy used a FireWire port!)
