Samsung Series 9 Ultrabook: super thin laptop begs for a release date

Samsung has set tongues wagging by announcing its latest Series 9 Ultrabook on its website. The incredibly thin 0.6-inch deep aluminium laptop delivers big screen, high-powered action without the bulk, souped up with the latest Intel Ivy Bridge processors for added substance to its undoubted style.

The new Samsung Series 9 has just appeared on the Samsung UK website, where some pretty decent specifications have been listed. On the face of it, the new Samsung Series 9 sounds impressive.

Sony VAIO T Ultrabook is a beauty

The Samsung Series 9 weighs 1.65kg, and gets a 15-inch SuperBright HD+ LED display to go with its aluminium finish. Inside is a dual-core 1.7GHz Core i5 3317U CPU, 128GB of Solid state drive storage, 8GB RAM, and Intel HD Graphics 4000.

Samsung promises “the world’s fastest boot-up time in just 9.8 seconds” and a wake from sleep time of 1.4 seconds. However, those claims will of course depend on your chose configurations, so don’t go calling Guinness just yet.

The only thing missing from the Samsung Series 9 is its price and availability. A ‘Where to buy’ link on the Samsung website currently points visitors to an empty list, but this gorgeous aluminium Ultrabook is definitely one to keep an eye on.
