Samsung Galaxy S3 rumours: Five things you need to know

A rumoured Samsung Galaxy S3 is doing the rounds on the gadget grapevine, but what is it? The mystery phone is said to be a quad-core Android phone with a 12-megapixel camera due to be announced and revealed as soon as next month.

Samsung has yet confirm anything, but that hasn’t stopped numerous guesses at what the next Samsung Galaxy phone will feature. Here are some of the rumours doing the rounds.

Samsung Galaxy S3

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has been heavily tipped to be a powerful quad-core smartphone that sounds as if it could blow almost every other rival handset out of the water, with guesses suggesting speeds of up to 1.5GHz – great for apps, games, anything.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

This sounds like a given, but we can pretty much assume that any new Samsung Galaxy S2 follow-up will feature the latest Android operating system adding a lot more features and user-intuitiveness, and a nifty face unlock feature, where you unlock your Android phone through the magic of face recognition technology.

It may have a 4.6-inch screen

The Samsung Galaxy S3 will have a whopping good Super AMOLED screen, of that you can be sure. But what size? Reports have gone so far as to suggest that it will be as large as 5-inches, but an upgrade on the Samsung Galaxy S2 of around 4.6-inches sounds more likely.

Camera 12-megapixel

Rumours last week point to a 12-megapixel with an LED or Xenon flash-enabled camera capable of going toe-to-toe with the Nokia N8 for photo supremacy, and 720p high definition video recording.

Samsung Galaxy S3 could launch in April 2012

Infamous gadget insider Eldar Murtazin, who last week claimed to be in possession of a Samsung Galaxy S3 predicted an April 2012 shop date for the Samsung Galaxy S3. Considering his prediction of Nokia partnering up with Microsoft, and recently that a Nokia Lumia 910 will soon hit the shops (which now looks like happening) he’s a man worth taking seriously.
