Samsung Galaxy S2 arrives in style Samsung's bid for smartphone bragging rights

With Mobile World Congress under full swing in Barcelona, this week is all about mobile phones and tablets, and Samsung made sure it was quick on the draw with both by revealing its next-gen contenders the day before the show even kicked off.

We’ve been hearing loads of rumours about the Samsung Galaxy S2 in recent weeks, but we’re no less excited about the finished product now that it’s finally here. Maybe that’s because of the stunning 4.27in Super AMOLED Plus screen running at 480×800 pixels, which certainly right up there with the best displays in the mobile world right now.

The 1GHz dual-core processor is no less impressive, and it’s backed up by an 8-megapixel camera on the back, and a 2MP partner up front for crystal-clear video-calling goodness.

You want full HD video? You’ve got it, as the Galaxy S2 can both record and play back clips at 1080p/30fps.

Throw in DLNA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a host of other mobile goodies, along with a choice of 16GB or 32GB of on-board storage and you have a handset that looks to have the measure of any rival in the high-end smartphone arena.

my wife just got one...no tech expert to say the least and she is amazed at how easy it is, me i'm gob-smacked. never had anything apple and seeing this thing in action dont see why i would be. agree, gadget should review - would be interesting to see if they confirm all the other review experts.

i think this phone is brilliant and cant wait to order it once my upgrade comes in October. I don't think they'll give a favourable review though as they only seem to like Apple. Don,t get me wrong the iphone is great my gf has one but its about choice especially if you can upgrade to Android just like the old days. So why would i pay £40 pm for an iphone when i can stay on my current contract for 18 months and pay £22 pm and have a phone that's just as good if not better.

This phone is the new iphone beater! Ive had an iphone for 3 years and just dumped the apple for the Samsung, its much clearer with a bigger screen and battery life is much better, also really easy to sync my old itunes playlists to the ihone and the sync is done wirelessly! So iphone is on ebay and Im over the moon with the S2! Also got the ipad beater, the Galaxy tab 10.1
