Samsung Galaxy Note 2 gets a new rival: Meet the LG Optimus Vu 2
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 gigantic, turbo charged Android phone/tablet, goes on sale in the UK on Monday, but it may have some stiff competition. LG’s just outed a new super sized slate of its own, the Optimus Vu 2. So which one should you go for?
Announced in LG’s homeland of South Korea just a few hours ago, the LG Optimus Vu 2 is a warhorse of a smartphone or a tablet, whichever way you look at it. It’s packing Qualcomm’s next gen Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz processor, a beefy 2GB of memory for seamless multitasking, and Android 4.0.
How to get the new Android update now
It’s big selling point is the unusual 5-inch screen’s aspect ratio though: at 4:3 this device has a display almost as wide as it is long. That means it’s ideal for writing notes with the included stylus, or reading ebooks on the go.
But it’s got some stuff competition from the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which has a big head start on LG’s latest. It’s running Android 4.1 out of the box (rather than last year’s 4.0 build), and has some super silicon of its own in the shape of a quad-core 1.6GHz processor powering its 5.5-inch HD display.
We don’t know when the LG Optimus Vu 2 will go on sale in the UK just yet, but we’re searching for more details and will update you as soon as we know. In the meantime, let’s hear what you make of it in the comments below.
