Resident Evil 6 officially unveiled, play as Chris and Leon this November
Following grapevine ramblings and rumour, Capcom has finally announced Resident Evil 6 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The good news is that it looks fantastic, as you’ll be able to play as Chris or Leon. The bad news is that you’ll have to wait until later in the year to ease that itchy trigger finger.
The latest in the horror series will arrive this November, and have players reprising the role of Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield in action taking place in different locations across the world, set ten years since the Racoon City zombie outbreak.
In Resident Evil 6 the president of the United States is ready to reveal truths about past bioterrorist activity, but before he can do so, he is one of the many victims of a bioterrorist attack, transforming the president into one of the infected.
Later on, other playable character Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under pressure. It soon becomes clear that no country is safe from these attacks, as Leon and Chris join forces to combat the threat, joined by new characters along the wait, in what Capcom says is the most ambitious game in the series.
Early looks suggest that the game will be split between tense horror gameplay and all-out action in a blend Capcom hopes fans will love. Hiroyuki Kobayashi, Resident Evil’s Executive Producer also confirmed two-player co-op action: “From the outset the team’s intention was to create an experience that delivers a gripping storyline, tense single-player and co-op action all set against a constant theme of horror. We are calling this fusion dramatic horror and are confident it will resonate with both existing fans of the series as well as newcomers.”
Resident Evil 6 will arrive on PS3, Xbox 360 and later on PCs, with the prospect of going up against another Call of Duty game. Excited?
