Rayman Jungle Run swings onto iPhone and Android

There’s a brand new blockbuster game swinging its way onto smartphones today, threatening to tear your thumbs away from Temple Run: Rayman Jungle Run. Ubisoft’s brand new platformer starring its legendary mascot is hitting iOS and Android as we speak – so what can you expect?

Out on iPhone and iPad now, with an Android release imminent, the £1.99 Rayman Jungle Run has been designed specifically for mobile, with 40 short levels of manic action you can easily fit in on short bus trips.

Rayman Jungle Run adopts the same beautiful 2D animation style as the recent Rayman Origins platformer for consoles, but with streamlined controls perfect for touchscreens. Rayman charges ahead from left to right in 2D tradition, and all you’ve got to do is make sure he jumps and flies at the right time.

Now Rayman Jungle Run isn’t the limbless critter’s first appearance on iOS. The PlayStation and Dreamcast classic, Rayman 2, was released a couple of years ago: its vast scale was impressive but the controls and camera control didn’t lend themselves too well to a touchscreen. Rayman Jungle Run looks to make amends for that – let us know how you find it. You can find it at the iTunes App Store here.
