PS Vita launch line-up confirmed, more games on the way

The PS Vita officially goes on sale in the UK on 22nd February 2012. Ahead of the big day, Sony has officially confirmed the games making the full launch line-up, with some top-notch first-party games available from day one.

The final EU launch line-up have been revealed and shown-off at a media event in London. The good news is there will be plenty of great titles for eager Vita owners to get stuck into.

Twelve titles make up the games PS Vita customers will be able to snap on launch day, headlined by Uncharted: Golden Abyss, WipEout 2048 and Motorstorm RC.

The latest game in the popular Motorstorm series is said to blend ‘old-school remote control and contemporary racing gameplay’, a bit like old favourite Micro Machines. The Cross Play feature will let PS3 owners of the game compete with PS Vita players, says Sony.

The launch line up in full is as follows:

Uncharted: Golden Abyss, WipEout 2048, Reality Fighters, Little Deviants, ModNation Racers: Road Trip, Everybody’s Golf, Escape Plan, Gravity Rush, Hustle Kings, Motorstorm RC, Top Darts and Super StarDust Delta.

On top of the confirmed launch games, Sony revealed a host of other third-party games currently in development for PS Vita. It’s one heck of a list. Among those named were: Ninja Gaiden, Ridge Racer, Silent Hill: Book of Memories, Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom, BioShock, and Street Fighter, not to mention many more.

PS Vita picked up by Vodafone for 3G connectivity
Earlier this week it was revealed that Vodafone would be providing 3G PS Vita models connectivity. The PS Vita can currently be found listed online for £229.99 for a Wi-Fi version, and £279.99 for a 3G version.

PS Vita: Pre-order, get free stuff

Participating retailers will begin taking pre-orders with special offer bundles thrown in from 30th November 2011. Among the goodies thrown in is a discount on PS Vita games, exclusive Vita items for PlayStation Home and a pair of PlayStation-branded earphones.

But is it all enough to tempt you into becoming one of the first UK PS Vita owners? Or will you wait until the price drops? Let us know in the comments section below.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss is a must for me! The only real choice is 3G or Wi-fi only...
