Philips FWP3200D DJ dock brings the party to your iPhone

The Philips‘ FWP3200D is a brand new, colossal iPhone and iPod touch dock that doubles up as a DJ station, complete with full DJ controls, lighting effects, dual mixing, and enough audio power to give the neighbours nightmares.

The distinctive-looking FWP3200D docking station comes dressed in a steel, piano black and gold finish around its speakers. The style might be an acquired taste, but even gadget-loving DJs will find plenty ponder.

On top of the Philips FWP3200D are two turntables on which an iPhone and/or an iPod touch can be docked. Non-Apple users can plug in another gadget using an auxiliary port. Channel faders let owners switch between two sources to create mixes between the two tracks playing. More controls include treble/bass control, and “power boosting.”

When in use the speaker rings begin to flash red, purple and blue, alternating between the colours. The speakers themselves are 2-inch tweeters, 5.25-inch subwoofers handle the bass.

A microphone input comes in handy for spontaneous karaoke outbursts, or announcements at parties. There’s even support for the Algoriddim djay app to digital vinyl scratching for iPhone and iPod touch, and an FM tuner.

Philips is also selling a matching Philips FWP100 speaker kit that can be added for an extra 240W of power for those “turn it up to 11” moments, and even more lighting action.

The Philips FWP3200D is out now in the UK at a cost of £299.99. The matching speaker kit costs £199.99.

I know it's not as flashy, but I quite like the Arcade Machine iPod dock.
