Pentax Optio WG-2 series cameras: tough enough to take anywhere
Pentax is updating its range of rugged shooters with the introduction of the Optio WG-2 series of cameras, so tough you can take them almost anywhere. Read on for more on the camera range that even adventurer Bear Grylls would be proud to own.
The dustproof, and shock resistant Pentax Optio WG-2 series will also come in a range of colours, due out next month.
Wrapped up in a tough looking design, the Pentax Optio WG-2 series come with a 16-megapixel, back-illuminated CMOS sensor, also able to shoot video in 1080p – the highest of high definition and a micro-HDMI port that when hooked up to a HD TV will let you share your exploits on the big screen for added bragging rights. Expected features include face detection, autofocus and a hardened cover to protect the lens
And then of course, there are the Pentax WG-2 Series’ macho credentials. The range is waterproof up to 40 feet, and is both shock resistant and dust proof. Pentax claims that this latest refresh in the range delivers clearer and sharper images than previous models.
The Pentax WG-2 will be priced at $350 (£220) in Black or Vermillion Red options, while a version featuring GPS will cost slightly more at $400 (£252). Both are expected to ship this March.
