Original Final Fantasy hits Google Play, re-live a classic on your Android right now

The original Final Fantasy has made its way onto Android. The remake of the game that started a legendary series is now on Google Play, ready to download to Android smartphones, the 1987 has been brought back to life for a new generation of smartphone players to enjoy.

The successful series was first launched in Japan in 1987. Since then, it has gone from strength to strength. Now Android fans who missed out can enjoy the original in all its old school glory.

Battlefield 3: Aftermath map pack details revealed!

Visitors to the Google Play store can download it for £4.44. The size of the application comes in at 64.39MB, and will need 240MB of available memory, so it’s worth downloading via Wi-Fi if possible.

The original Final Fantasy sees four young warriors, each possessing a crystal, travel to worlds unexplored after an evil forces them to do so. Players can expect plenty of classic combat, upgradeable weapons and magic, and the ability to upgrade their characters. In every sense, Final Fantasy is a bit of a classic.

The re-release isn’t the only bit of Final Fantasy news to have fans excited in recent weeks. Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 will arrive on Steam, to download for PC, complete with brand new online features such as cloud saves, and the ability to share your profile with friends.

Until then, how about that original Final Fantasy? Will you be heading to Google Play for a slice of that retro action?
