OnLive coming to iPad, iPhone and Android OnLive – going mobile?

OnLive, the much-touted online cloud gaming service is going to be offering its services to a whole new host of gadgetry, including the iPhone, iPad and Google Android devices.

OnLive founder and boss, Steve Perlman reported that OnLive had surpassed everyone’s initial expectations and that he wants to get the service fully functional over Wi-Fi and that PCs and Macs are still his primary concern. he went on to say, however, that iPad, iPhone and Android versions were all in the pipeline.

“We’ll figure out what the right timing is for the iPad, the iPhone, and the Android,” he said. “Nobody can promise that Apple is going to permit an application to run, and we haven’t submitted it yet. I’m optimistic they will, but if not, it will be available on the Android.” Looks as if Android just might streak ahead in this race due to more relaxed permissions.

OnLive is set to arrive for PCs and Macs in the UK later this year. There’s no word as yet when its mobile counterparts might show up, but watch this space…

Sounds good, though you'll need a 5mb broadband connection minimum.
