Olympus’ E-30 SLR snapper in view
Olympus E-30 SLR: More than just a mid-range snapper
Looking for a mid range camera with some of the top of the range tricks of pricier models? Well, Olympus has entered the fray with its new E-30 SLR, which warrants close inspection.
It’s got a jumbo 12.3-megapixel sensor with 11-point autofocus and promises to be a solid low-light shooter thanks to settings up to 3200 ISO. There’s also five frames per second rapid-fire shooting for serious action shots, ensuring you don’t miss a moment. Chuck in a Live View LCD screen so you can see what you’re shooting, Art Filters for special effects, image stabilization and smart face detection and you’ve got yourself a top drawer SLR that promises not to wring your wallet dry – Olympus is staying hushed on a UK price, but if the US tag of $1,299 is anything to go by expect to pay around £800 here when it arrives here in January.
