Okami HD coming exclusively to PS3 with PlayStation Move wand controls

Fan favourite Okami will soon be arriving on PS3 in the form of Okami HD – a glistening remastered version of the cult, but critically acclaimed hit. Okami HD adds high-definition graphics to one of consoles most beautiful games, and exclusive PlayStation Move controls to control the iconic lead role of Ameratsu, and manipulate the inky world of Nippon to save its wonderful world from destruction. More details this way…

The launch was confirmed on the official PlayStation blog, with a side-by-side video comparison showing off the difference a HD makeover can make to the stylised adventure game.

ZombiU: what you need to know about Nintendo’s zombie shooter

“I did not think it was possible to make the game look even better, but when I saw it for myself, I was a believer, Capcom Marketing Manager Tristan Corbett said.

“The trademark sumi-e ink art style lends itself perfectly to HD, allowing players to experience more of the awe-inspiring world displayed in more detail than ever before.”

Okami HD also adds a compatibility for widescreen 16:9 viewing to look its best on all HD TVs, but it’s the addition of PlayStation Move support that will most excite PS3 owners, with players now able to use it as a ‘Celestial Brush’ in-game to create brush strokes to defeat enemies and solve puzzles.

Traditional controls using a PS3 controller will also work, but for the best experience, Okami HD just might make investing in a Move controller worthwhile. Capcom also confirmed PS3 Trophies support.

Excited? Okami HD Will be hitting the shops this autumn. We’ll let you know the exact date as soon as we hear it.
