Nokia X6, N900 release just days away?
Nokia N900 - smartphone or pocket PC?
Nokia is spoiling for a smartphone fight, and battle could be sooner than we thought. Its high-end X6 and N900 are just days away, if internet mutterings are to be believed.
While Nokia itself has remained tight-lipped over both new handsets, online vendors are suggesting we’re looking at 12 of November for the X6 and 16 Nov for the N900.
Expansys lists the X6 available for £529, listing the 12th as the “expected” release date. Its features list marks it as a clear iPhone contender: 32GB of onboard storage, a 3.2in touchscreen plus a full year of free music downloads from Nokia.
The N900, meanwhile, is more pocket computer than phone. It runs Nokia’s new Maemo operating system, has a full Qwerty keyboard, 32GB of storage and a 3.5in touchscreen.
Online comparison site Omio claims hundreds have signed up for two-year N900 contracts through Orange and O2, and the date associated in every case is the 16th. Expansys seems to agree: its N900 page estimates the Nokia heavyweight will arrive in 10 days. If you want one without a contract, it’ll cost you £499.

I wish things were a little clearer with which networks its going to be with. mobilephonesdirect.co.uk have had this available to pre-order for quite a while on T-Mobile and Vodafone. Toaday T-Mobile isn't an option but Voda still is. On the other hand Omio have the other two networks.

Am considering getting this, i have the nokia n810 internet tablet and this is the next generation up. The n810 is great, has everything built in but it is not a phone, this now combines the two together. Will be 2 years before i buy as this is when my license expires on the n810 for the gps upgrade to voice navigation which i had to pay for (and will have to pay again on the n900). By then the price will have dropped anyway.
