Nokia axes N-Gage gaming Nokia N-Gage – no more

Nokia has announced that its N-Gage mobile gaming platform will be no more from September 2010.

According to the Nokia N-Gage blog, the oft-criticised service will transfer all gaming duties over to Nokia’s Ovi store. This move will create a one-stop shop for games and apps from both Nokia and third-party publishers.

Anyone out there who already owns N-Gage titles, don’t worry – all N-Gage games will still work on your mobile, but all the community-based features will cease to exist from September next year.

A spokesman for Nokia added: “The N-Gage.com site together with the N-Gage Arena and other community features will remain in operation throughout 2010.”
