Nokia 5800 XpressMusic sings while it’s shipping

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic sings while it’s shipping Upping the touchscreen-music-phone ante, it’s the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic mobile

The iPhone’s been out a while now, so it’s somewhat surprising it’s taken this long for Nokia to get its first touchscreen-toting, music-belting mobile on the shelves. But rockers, popsters, any other muso-group you can think of, and people obsessed with touching things, can relax. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is nearly upon us, ready to wail in our ears that it’s time to bin our MP3 players.

Shipping to stores now to go on sale early next month, the XpressMusic phone has plenty of features aside from the music functionality, though. It’s a Series 60 fifth edition device and has a 3.2-megapixel camera, an accelerometer (as is de rigeur these days) and a 3.2-inch touchscreen to keep your digits out of trouble.

It looks like Spain will be the first European country to get their mitts on the Nokia handset, with an official launch scheduled for December 1 at a price of €279 (or £230 to everyone in Blighty). But don’t worry, the rest of us won’t be far behind…
