Nintendo confirms Mario Bros game set for E3 2012
We knew it had to happen sooner or later but Nintendo has confirmed that it will be showcasing its ‘new Mario Bros’ game for the Wii U at this year’s E3 in June. Great news for fans around the world of everyones favourite plumbing duo. Read on to find out more about Mario Bros at E3 2012.
With E3 still a few months off, it seems that none of the gaming companies are taking any chances this year. Microsoft and Sony have already announced they will be presenting their keynotes on 4th June. Nintendo hasn’t officially announced the date of its big reveal yet but the company has confirmed that one of the key stars of the event will be Mario!
Reports began with an interview from Spanish publication, El Mundo, who claimed that Shigeru Miyamoto, the gaming genius behind Mario, Zelda and Pikmin to name a few, that Nintendo would reveal their new Mario Bros game for Wii U in June. Now, there was no direct quote from Miyamoto at this point but Nintendo has stepped up to the plate to back up the claim with a direct confirmation.
In a statement to Eurogamer, a Nintendo honcho has said, “In a recent interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Wii U system will be shown at this year’s E3 Expo,” they confirmed. “We’ll have more to announce about our plans for the E3 Expo at a later date.”
No further details on what the game will look like or involve were mentioned, no doubt saving all the glory for E3. However, this bodes well for all Nintendo fans as it means we can look forward to flagship games hitting the Wii U most likely at launch!
