Motorola Xoom launching on February 17?
After the excitement of CES every year comes the drudge of waiting for all those exciting new products to actually be launched.
But there was good news this week – or so it seemed – regarding one of the stars of CES, the Motorola Xoom tablet, as it seems the wait for Moto’s debut tablet might not be as long as we first thought.
Our best guess so far for the Honeycomb-laden Xoom’s launch date has been around the end of the first quarter, but new info from Best Buy in the US is that the Xoom will in fact land on February 17 – in the US anyway.
Further good news appears to be that the all-singing tablet has been given a $700 price tag over the Atlantic, suggesting that the eye-watering £720 prediction for the UK price might be on the steep side – even with the usual prohibitive exchange rate we see for electronics here in Blighty.
In other news, Motorola has confirmed the Xoom won’t be running its MotoBlur interface on top of Android, and it will instead be a pure ‘Google Experience Device’.
