Microsoft’s crazy Wedge Touch Mouse gets priced ahead of Windows 8

Microsoft’s Wedge Touch Mouse, a crazy portable mouse with a touch sensitive surface designed specifically for the upcoming Windows 8, has just been priced up for the UK. Read on to find out when this Apple Magic Mouse rival arrives, along with a host of other stunnings accessories for your next PC.

The Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse, created by the clever designers at the software giant’s Hardware division, is a portable wireless mouse that’s every bit as beautiful as Apple’s cordless rodent. It’s been made with Windows 8 in mind, and uses BlueTrack laser tech so it works on almost any surface, typically a stumbling block for laser mice. It recognises swipes in four directions, so you’ll even be able to flick through your fullscreen apps with it. It’s set to go on sale in the UK from 20 August, priced up at £69.99.

Alongside the Wedge Touch Mouse, Microsoft is releasing a couple of other striking new accessories. There’s the Sculpt Touch Mouse. a more conventionally designed mouse with the same Bluetooth and laser tech inside: the panel where a centre mouse button would usually be recognises the same Windows 8 swipe gestures as the Wedge Touch Mouse. That’s out on the same day priced at £49.99.

Last but not least there’s the Wedge Mobile Keyboard, a portable wireless QWERTY that comes with a peel off cover and a built in tablet stand, perfect for propping up your new Microsoft Surface Windows 8 tablet. It has Windows 8 shortcuts on board, but it also works perfectly with Mac computers, and even Android tablets. It’s out in September in the UK, priced at £79.99.

What do you make of Microsoft’s striking design for the Wedge Touch Mouse? Will you be buying one? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments.
