Microsoft “Durango” Xbox 720 is alive and well, and living in London!
Xbox 720 rumours continue to surface. This latest one is particularly intriguing. Game developer Crytek has revealed the presence of the console in London following a Twitter message quoting “Durango” – widely believed to be the codename for the next-gen Xbox.
On the social networking site Twitter, Crytek’s Sean Tracy tweeted the following message: “Enjoying the Durango developers summit in London. So far, great swag and interesting talks.”
Game developer job hints at next-gen Xbox
All innocent, bar the name Durango. Put the codename Durango and developer Crytek together and it’s clear that games for the next-generation of Xbox are already being discussed, in London, no less. The tweet has since been deleted, further fuelling those Xbox 720 rumours we’ve been hearing so much.
Yesterday we reported that game developer Lionhead is seeking someone to work on an unannounced game using DirectX 11 technology – tech tipped to feature in the next Xbox console.
No new Xbox in 2012 says Microsoft
Games industry news site MCV also reported that a new Xbox will be revealed at this years E3 game expo in June. Microsoft France soon denied it, but the rumours and mounting evidence continue to build up. If the next generation of Xbox really is going to show up at E3 2012, June cannot come soon enough.
