Max Payne 3 delayed till May, pre-order deadline extended
Been waiting for Max Payne 3? If so, it looks like you’ll have to wait a little longer. Publisher Take-Two has delayed the release of the shooter till May 2012 – two months later than originally expected.
Gaming fans often see delays as a bad sign, however Take Two says there is nothing to worry about, and that the game has been pushed back to “ensure that Max Payne 3 delivers the highest quality.” There is some good news, fans now have more time to get their pre-order in.
Max Payne 3 Collectors Edition available for pre-order
For Xbox 360 and PS3 those new dates are 15th May for North America and 18th May internationally. For PC gamers Max Payne 3 will hit the shops on 29th May and 1st June internationally.
The third part in the third-person shooter trilogy was due to release in March 2012. But, Take-Two believes the wait will be worth it.
“We do not take changes to our release schedule lightly, and this short delay will ensure that Max Payne 3 delivers the highest quality, groundbreaking entertainment experience that is expected from our Company,” said Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two.
Of course, another benefit to the delay is that Max Payne fans now have 2nd April to order the stunning Max Payne 3 Collectors Edition for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
The bundle features a 10-inch tall Max Payne statue, prints, Classic Multiplayer Character Pack with eight playable characters for Max Payne 3 multiplayer, Disorderly Conduct Multiplayer Pack with extra weapons and the Max Payne 3 Official Soundtrack.
Back in October we visited the Rockstar Games’ offices to see Max Payne in action first-hand. It is already looking very impressive. Come May, our hopes will be set high for what Rockstar Games told us is the best looking game it has ever made. Will you be pre-ordering?
