LG Optimus 4X HD to tackle Samsung Galaxy S3, out in UK soon
The Samsung Galaxy S3 isn’t the only quad-core phone to get worked up about in the coming months. Today, LG launches the Optimus 4X HD in Germany, with a UK launch to follow very soon. The powerful smartphone promises “unparalleled performance and speed” and one of the best HD displays around. The Galaxy S3 may have been hogging the headlines, but the Optimus 4X HD could be LG’s best ever handset.

The LG Optimus 4X HD will be making its way around Europe, reaching Germany today, followed by Netherlands, Sweden, UK and Italy. Asia and American regions will then follow in the months ahead.
As for its UK launch, LG has yet to reveal exactly when we can get our hands on the Optimus 4X HD, but the powerful smartphone could be worth waiting for. Like that other Korean-made smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S3, it has a quad-core processor. The Optimus 4X HD also uses Tegra 3 to achieve fast speeds in every task. So games, apps, and internet browsing should whizz by.
You also get the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, and a similarly-sized 4.7-inch display with a 1280×720 resolution. The True HD IPS display promises the kind of top quality viewing experiences to make your eyes cry happy tears.
However, without a release date the Samsung Galaxy S3 is still the more attractive device, until we get our hands on the LG Optimus 4X HD to see exactly how it performs, that is. LG smartphones have yet to catch the imagination, but from the sounds of it LG has whipped up something special.
It had better hurry up before the rumoured iPhone 5 launch is announced, what with iPhone 5 rumours increasingly gathering pace – it could be only a matter of time before a reveal date for Apple’s new smartphone is announced as we look towards the later half of the year.
