LG Nexus 4 launch delayed!
If you were eagerly awaiting today’s launch of the LG Nexus 4 super phone, along with a new version of Android, we’re afraid we’ve got bad news for you. Google’s cancelled its big launch, but don’t worry – it’s got good reason. Read on to find out why.
Google’s Android event was scheduled to take place in New York, in a venue on the waterfront. In case you’ve missed the headlines though, a hurricane is bearing down on New York in the next few hours – and the venue is actually in an evacuation zone. Not only that, but all public transport has been grounded, so we can’t really begrudge Google for doing so.
Xbox SmartGlass arrives on Android: Control your console with your phone for free!
Google was expected to announce the LG Nexus 4, which we’ve seen leaked repeatedly over the last few weeks, and even accidentally put up for pre-order by Carphone Warehouse. Sources also said that a new version of Android, 4.2, was also going to be unveiled, along with a 32GB Nexus 7 tablet, and a brand new 10-inch Nexus tablet from Samsung to compete against the new iPad 4.
You can bet Google is keen to get this all launched before Christmas, so expect a rescheduled event in the very near future. In the meantime, Microsoft must be breathing a sigh of relief: it now has the tech world’s complete attention for its big Windows Phone 8 launch this afternoon. Don’t worry, we’ll be there live to bring you what happens!
