Is the LG Nexus 4 launching on Monday?

We’ve seen lots of leaks in the last week pointing towards an LG Nexus 4 phone on the way, but now we’ve got a save the date for you. Google is sending out invites to journalists for an Android event next week – just a day before the iPad Mini is due to be revealed to the world.

Google has invited US press to an event in New York on Monday, promising that the “playground is open”. Not much is known about what will be on show, but the LG Nexus 4 seems a likely candidate. It might also be running the next version of Android, believed to be 4.2 “Key Lime Pie”. What extra features this might include remains unknown however.

How to get the new Android update now

It might not just be the LG Nexus 4 we see however: this last week, we’ve heard whispers that a Sony Nexus Android phone is on the way too, and earlier this year, newspapers claimed that Google was working with more than one manufacturer on its next flagship Android “Nexus” phones.

We’ll be covering events live, but you can also tune in to see what the company’s got for us at 3pm UK time over on youtube.com/android. What do you think we’ll see? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
