iPad Mini: Launch date revealed!
Last week, the talk of tech town was that Apple would be sending journalists invites to an iPad Mini lauch event on 10 October. The day came and went with no welcoming invites from Cupertino, but now a new report confirms something even more exciting: the day Apple will reveal the iPad Mini to the world!
The Wall Street Journal blog AllThingsD reports today that Apple will unveil the iPad Mini on Tuesday 23 October – that’s just a week and a half of waiting.
The report contains little other news, such as where the event will be hosted (we’d guess at Apple’s headquarters after the iPhone 5’s San Francisco unveiling) or what day the iPad Mini will go on sale worldwide, but that launch date is likely legit. The Wall Street Journal’s not known for getting its Apple info wrong, especially so near to launch.
Is a £60 Google Nexus tablet on the way?
So far, rumours all point to an iPad Mini with a 7.85-inch display – that’s slightly bigger than those found on the Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire HD – and a smaller Lightning port, just like the iPhone 5.
We still don’t know how much it will cost, or if it’ll pack in any other secret features. Still, just knowing a more portable iPad on the way has us drooling. How about you? Let us know in the comments below!

Should have been called the iNote or something, would have sounded better than iPad Mini

Hmmmm how long before apple start patent cases on Google for copying there new ipad mini because I'm sure the nexus 7 is a complete copy of the mini ipad even tho its been on the market for a while now, its still an obvious ipad mini rip off, if I was apple I'd sue Google for copying the 7inch tablet platform that apple has just invented and never before seen by the world! !!

It looks certain to be called the mini then. I think it's a bad name because it's a very feminine, and may alienate gents in the same way the iPod mini didn't work until they rebranded it the nano. Something like iPad Move might be better to emphasise the portability.
