HTC serves up Android Ice Cream Sandwich updates
Ice Cream Sandwich, otherwise known as Android 4.0 has begun hitting HTC smartphones, starting with the HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE. HTC confirmed the rollout, also revealing the full list of HTC devices set to receive the update in the coming weeks. We have that list right here. Does your device feature? Take a look.
HTC’s community manager, Darren Krape has confirmed the extensive list of handsets due to receive Ice Cream Sandwich on the company’s blog.
Samsung Galaxy S3 rumours: Five things you must know
First on list is the HTC Sensation and HTC Sensation XE, followed by 14 more handsets. The bottom line is that if you own any of them, you don’t have long to wait. HTC favourites on the list is the HTC Desire S, HTC Desire HD and the HTC Incredible S.
Ice Cream Sandwich delivers a new user interface, new homescreen folders and customisation, improved text input, a new camera app, video effects, improved web browsing, new touchscreen gestures, and more.
HTC is hoping to have the update rolled out to each of the devices as soon as possible, but stressed that some network carriers might be slower to push the update than others.
Within the next few weeks, all handsets should hopefully be updated. The full list of HTC smartphones scheduled for the update are as follows: DROID Incredible 2 by HTC, HTC Amaze 4G, HTC Desire S, HTC Desire HD, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G, HTC Incredible S, HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation XL, HTC Sensation 4G, HTC Sensation XE, HTC Raider, HTC Rezound, HTC Rhyme, HTC Thunderbolt, HTC Vivid.
All this talk of ice cream is making us rather hungry but before we nip out we’d love to know which one of the above smartphones you own and what you’re hoping the update will bring?
