HTC One X+ leaks out: Samsung Galaxy S3 killer?
Is a HTC One X+ Android smartphone about to be unleashed upon us? That’s what this scan from an upcoming O2 catalogue seems to suggest, and it’s packing specs that would make even the Samsung Galaxy S3 blush.
If GSM Arena’s information is accurate, the HTC One X+ will look much like the original, beautiful HTC One X, with a few twists. It’ll run the latest version of Android, 4.1 Jelly Bean, and pack in a huge 64GB of storage. That’ll all be powered by a faster, 1.7GHz quad-core processor.
Windows Phone 8X by HTC: Hands on preview!
Is it legit? GSM Arena is a reliable source, and network catalogues do have to get printed some time in advance, so it certainly seems that way. And by launching the HTC One X+, HTC would be following the launch pattern it adopted a couple of years ago: major new flagship phone in the spring, and follow up with a small improvement in the autumn ((2011 saw the HTC Sensation, followed by the Sensation XL, for instance). With any luck, it could go on sale around the same time as the upcoming HTC Desire X.
One question does remain though: are we going to be forced to choose between faster speeds and more storage in the HTC One X+, or 4G super speeds in the HTC One XL, a 4G variant of the original that EE has announced will be launched on its network?
Fingers crossed we’ll find out soon: a 4G HTC One X+ would be the best of both.
