HTC J Butterfly: Super screen Android phone coming to the West?
The HTC J Butterfly turned heads when it was revealed a few weeks ago: it’s the first phone in history to pack an eye-popping full HD, 1080p screen. Tragically though, it was a Japan-only phone. Now though, we’re seeing the first signs that it’s headed to the west. Should Apple and Samsung be scared?
Over in the US this week, HTC and mobile network Verizon have been inviting journalists to a press event in New York on 13 November – this Tuesday. All the signs point to this being the launch event for the HTC Droid DNA, a HTC J Butterfly equivalent with a five-inch screen, 4G super speeds and that incredible 1080p resolution.
With any luck, that should mean that the HTC J Butterfly makes its way over to the UK very soon too: it’s rare for the company to launch a flagship phone in the US but not in Europe, and it desperately needs a contender against Samsung’s incredible, enormous Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phone-tablet-thing, which has already sold more than three million worldwide in the space of a month.
Would you buy the HTC J Butterfly in place of the Samsung Galaxy S3, LG Nexus 4 or iPhone 5? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments below!
